The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau will work alongside you to ensure that your event can achieve its full potential. We offer various services and support to bring more events to Osaka and to ensure their success. Osaka is strengthened by a MICE promotional body made up of a collaboration between Osaka prefecture, the city of Osaka, and the local economic sector, guaranteeing multifaceted support for events held in Osaka.
1. Bid Support: Bringing Your Event to Osaka

To support organizers trying to bring their events to Osaka, we can gather quotes for venues and hotels that meet your budgeting needs, provide ideas and inspiration for your event program, arrange site visits for key decision makers, and more.

2. Event Operation Support:
Maximizing Your Event’s Potential
Is your event coming to Osaka? To support the planning, preparation, and operation of your event, we offer the advertisement and promotion of the event through our website, the crafting of special party programs and cultural experiences at venues that are uniquely Osaka, guidance on local tourist activities, and other services.

3. Financial & Material Support

(1) International Convention Subsidy
We offer subsidies covering a portion of operating costs for international meetings that are considering Osaka as a host destination.
Requirements to Apply: The supported convention must be held for at least three days, have a total of 300 or more participants with at least 50 participants coming from outside Japan, and must be represented by at least five countries.
Approval for this support and the maximum amount awarded is decided on a case-by-case basis, so please contact us via our contact form for more information. -
(2) Subsidy for International Conventions in Osaka that Align with Expo 2025
With the world’s next big event coming to Osaka in 2025, we can help cover a portion of the running costs for international conventions that align with the themes and goals of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
Requirements to Apply:
Tier 1 (baseline amount):
The supported convention must
・be held for at least two days
・have a total of 50 or more participants
・be represented by three or more countries including Japan
・not have already selected Osaka as the host destination at the time of application
・align with one of the themes presented by the Expo 2025 Theme Weeks
・not be receiving the following kind of support:
1) any grant-in-aid or subsidy from the national government or local municipalities
2) any grant-in-aid or subsidy provided by the Osaka prefectural or city governments
Tier 2 (increased amount):
The supported convention must
・meet all the requirements of Tier 1
・be organized by an international entity
・rotate between at least three different countries (including conventions that have been held in at least two different countries in the past) -
(3) Event Operation Support System
To make receptions and parties even more memorable, we can help implement unique cultural attractions for unforgettable experiences. Options for these attractions include:
・appearance and ceremonial performances from the Fukumusume, shrine maidens of Imamiya-Ebisu Shrine
・cultural performances including taiko drums, traditional Japanese dance, the koto stringed instrument, or daikagura acrobatic arts
・other experiences including English rakugo (comic storytelling), a samurai show, a ninja show, or a ninja experience
・offering environmentally friendly and sustainable novelties
・offering Osaka goods for guests to enjoy, such as local sake or wine
・a portion of shuttle bus expenses covered (up to a certain amount)

Requirements to Apply:
For international conventions, the conference must be held for at least two days, have a total of 100 or more participants with at least 20 participants coming from outside Japan, and be represented by three or more countries.
For domestic conventions, the conference must be held for at least three days and have a total of 1,000 or more participants.
For international incentive tours or corporate events, the event must have at least 100 participants with 90% or more of the participants coming from outside of Japan with at least a two-night stay within Osaka prefecture and to hold a gala dinner.
