The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau supports meeting and event organizers through each step of the event planning process, from proposal to conclusion, to create unique and memorable experiences. Osaka is bolstered by a support body made up of Osaka Prefecture, the City of Osaka, and the local economic sector as well as the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau.
At the 29th biannual congress of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IPAD) in Maastricht, Netherlands in June 2023, the IAPD conducted their selection process for the host of the 31st congress in 2027, and ultimately announced Osaka as their chosen destination. The IAPD is a non-profit organization founded in 1969, with the objective to contribute to the promotion of the oral health for children around the globe, and today has around 2,000 members in 80 countries. The IAPD congress is held once every two years with nearly 1,400 attendees, and the 2027 congress will be the first in Japan since the 1991 Kyoto Congress. The congress organizers have cited Osaka's ease of access and Osaka's strength in the field of dentistry as reasons for choosing Osaka.
The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau will continue to support the organizers of the congress in the lead up to 2027 to ensure its success.
