Contributing to the future of global healthcare and building upon the legacy of Expo 2025, Japan Health is coming to Osaka!

In anticipation of the opportunities presented by the upcoming Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau (OCTB) works alongside meeting and event planners to bring and create successful conventions, exhibitions, and other events in Osaka. The OCTB has partnered with Informa Markets in order to bring their large-scale international exhibition focused on medical devices and healthcare to Japan for the first time, to be titled Japan Health.

The first-ever Japan Health will take at INTEX Osaka June 25- 27, 2025, coinciding with the run of Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, and Japan Health will continue to be held each year thereafter.

The successful planning of Japan Health was announced at a press conference in Tokyo on July 25, 2023, attended by President Christopher Eve of Informa Markets, the organizer of Japan Health, and Yoshiki Sawa, Director of Osaka Police Hospital and originator of Japan Health. As the organization who successfully attracted this event, OCTB President Hiroshi Mizohata also spoke in front of the press, as well as representatives from Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, who are all providing official support for the event.

Large-scale events focused on medical equipment are annually held worldwide, providing a valuable business hub that encourages companies from around the world to enter into new markets and new alliances, developing new innovation and business opportunities. Having a massive event like Japan Health come to Japan presents an opportunity to showcase Japan's advanced technology and medical services to the world, as well as to increase competitiveness and spur innovation in Japan's medical associations and healthcare industry, and consequently contribute to medical institutions, patients, and communities around the world. Japan Health aligns with the goals of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, the theme of which is "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." Building upon the legacy that Expo 2025 will leave on Osaka and Japan, Japan Health is planned to continue annually in 2026 and beyond.

At the July 25 press conference, Dr. Sawa expressed how he anticipates Japan Health being a massive development for Japan, not only for medical devices, but also for regenerative medicine and other fields that produce new business opportunities. In addition, everyone from the OCTB, Cabinet Secretariet, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, all panned supporters of the event, all also expressed their hopes and expectations for Japan Health and the future, demonstrating that preparation for the first-ever Japan Health will be undertaken by an All-Japan body.
