Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai is on its way.
Expo 2025 will be held on the island of Yumeshima in the bay of Osaka and expects 150 countries and regions and 25 international organizations to participate. The event will also receive an anticipated 28.2 million visitors over its six months. As the successor to Expo '70 in Osaka held 55 years before, Expo 2025 is being developed under the theme of “Designing Future Society for our Lives.” Aiming to contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the Expo will also be a catalyst to help society develop into the ideal "Society 5.0," a proposed step beyond the information society (Society 4.0) whose members have mutual respect for each other, transcending generations, and in which each and every person can lead an active and enjoyable life.
