A look at Universal Studios Japan and how they are maintaining a safe environment.
Introducing the Osaka MICE Spotlight
Here, we at the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau introduce the venues that make Osaka the top MICE destination in Japan. In volume 1, we take a look at Osaka's own Universal Studios Japan and what they are doing to maintain a safe environment, as well as their unique group party plan options that make them an ideal party venue for business event groups.
Enhanced Sanitation Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within Japan, Universal Studios Japan closed temporarily on February 29, 2020, but with the lifting of government's voluntary restrictions on large facilities, resumed normal operations on June 19, 2020.
Upon reopening, the health and safety of guests and crew is their top priority. As such, Universal Studios Japan is reopening the park in phases to allow for capacity control. Further, they have adopted enhanced sanitation measures based on guidance from health care authorities and medical experts. These measures are in strict coherence with the "Theme Park Infection Prevention Guidelines" and are informed by the current situation both in Japan and abroad. The park is maintaining a safe environment by implementing measures and asking guests to comply with the following: temperature checks at the entrance gate, mask wearing at all times, frequent hand washing, maintaining social distancing, and avoiding crowding. The park is additionally supported by the Osaka COVID-19 Tracing System, designed by the Osaka prefectural government to prevent the spread of infectious disease.
